Dr. Michael O. Husmillo, D.C.

Dr. Michael Husmillo, OCNC's Clinical Director, is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley where he majored in Integrative Biology with an emphasis in neuroanatomy. He did his thesis under the supervision of Dr. Marian C. Diamond studying the relationship between the immune system and its effects on the neuroanatomy. He obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. While attending LifeChiropractic College, Dr. Husmillo received other various awards and honors such as the Excellence in Care citation.
He completed a 3-year postdoctoral neurology course through the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies in Clinical Neurology and successfully passed examinations leading to the certification of Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board. He has blended his background in nutrition with hundreds of hours of advanced post doctorate training in Functional Neurology to provide a very comprehensive and unique approach to one's care. He has also completed advanced studies in the treatment of vestibular disorders, learning disabilities and behavioral disorders from the Carrick Institute for Postdoctoral Education and has expanded Optimum Chiropractic Neurology to assist in the non-pharmaceutical treatment of vertigo and balance disorders in all age groups and children with ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and Learning disabilities.
In 2006, Dr. Husmillo received appointment to the Board of Trustee at the Judson Center. A non-profit organization serving the families of Southeast Michigan.
He currently is the director of Optimum Chiropractic Neurology Center and full-time clinician specializing in the treatment and rehabilitation of various neurological and musculoskeletal disorders. He has worked with numerous professional and amateur athletes in their quest to maximize their neuromusculoskeletal system and assisted in their recovery from injuries. He served as a guest lecturer at the University of Michigan-Flint speaking about various neuromusculoskeletal conditions such as peripheral neuropathies, repetitive stress injuries, and post-traumatic head injuries.
He is an Independent Medical Evaluator in the State of Michigan and serves as an expert witness for disputes in the workers' compensation system and personal injury arena.
Dr. Husmillo is first and foremost committed to providing each patient with an individualized diagnostic and therapeutic approach to assist them in their journey to live a healthy and fuller life.
Edna Bionson
Edna joined OCNC in July of 2012. She brings her knowledge of exercise physiology to OCNC. Edna's passion is to educate every patient on how to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
